I have visited Ramsey Creek Preserve in SC. I am gathering information about possibly starting a "green" cemetery in Franklin Co. VA - near Smith Moutain Lake (Between Roanoke and Martinsville, VA). I would appreciate any information & interest that is out there. Barbara

My husband and I have wanted a "green cemetery" in Richmond Virgina for a long time. We will do anything we can to help this happen. We have researched starting up our own cemetery. He is a medic and is used to death and even the more gruesome aspects of what happens to a body after it has died. Let us know if you have any new information on what we can do to help this information get out. Good Luck!! Make this happen!!

As another family physician and proponent of green burials, I applaud Dr. Campbell's initiative in South Carolina. I am searching for something similar in my state, but if I can't find it, perhaps I too will have to start my own green burial space here.

More media coverage needs to be given to green burials so the word will get out and Americans will stop spending thousands on a funeral. We are trying to "green up" our world...this is a wonderful way to do it!
