Want to take your green attitude all the way to the grave?

The Bite:
Consider eco-burial. Eco-burials are better for the planet and still give your family and friends a place to come chat with you - in the event that you have unfinished business to sort out… (And yes, we saw the episode, but no, we aren’t copying: we wrote this before Nate died and had an eco-burial on Six Feet Under).
The Benefits

  • Keeps unnecessary toxins out of the ecosystem. Green burials often include natural biodegradable coffins or shrouds and non-toxic or non-embalming options.
  • Saves overcrowding in limited cemeteries.
  • Allows for a beautiful visitation site: a green burial plot maintains a lush environment with a tree planted over or near the grave instead of a cemetery monument.

Personally Speaking
Formaldehyde seems awfully unnecessary for preserving a body that is not in use, so we’re both planning to be buried naturally or cremated. Of course, we are hoping to be buried naturally or cremated in like 70 years…
Wanna Try?

Make sure you have a pre-need contract or a living will so that your loved ones know what you want.
