Book Review: Remember me: Lisa Takeuchi
By Nicole F, Gather
There are two things certain about life and that is death and taxes. In our present day society we are so prepared for taxes and even have them planned months before they are due, but how often do people think about death yet alone plan theirs. Lisa Takeuchi’s new novel Remember me: a lively tour of the new american way of death, is a glimpse into the afterlife industry and the copious options available to People these days.
Each chapter of the book focus’ on a new way of celebrating and putting to rest a loved one. With cremations rising every year more and more people are looking for alternative ways to be laid to rest. weather you will be turned into a artificial reef or even a diamond. perhaps you would like to be a part of science and undergo plastination or cryogenic freezing. perhaps you want to do your part and ensure green land for future generations and be a habitat for life even after death.
This book is a book everyone who is planning on dying should read (so i guess that means everyone should read this). There is truely nothing to fear about death once you are prepared and are aware of how you will leave your mark in this world. By preparing for your death you allievate your worries as well as you families. You can lay to rest knowing that your family will “celebrate” your death the way you would like to be remembered, after all we plan all of our parties in life why should we not plan the parties that happen just after life?
