A most interesting article. I am trying to establish an information website to promote natural burial in Ireland. It's gravesmatter.ie but not launched until mid-June 2011.We have one natural burial ground in this country - Co.wexford and I hope the website will increase awareness and demand for more to develop.I intend to contact Mr McGowan and hope he can offer balanced info about embalming and encouragement of alternative fluid. I am personally against embalming, whatever the fluid as the process is most unnatural in itself. But if families require it & want a place in a natural burial ground, having a biodegradable non-toxic option would help make natural burial an option for a wider population(especially here in Ireland). A great read - thanks

,,There is also the possibility of a slowdown in developing markets in Europe where the practice of embalming is in its early stages,”
I the representative of these, emerging markets in Europe (Lithuania). This ,,slowdown" we are feeling some years.
