Where do you go to find out if there are places for "green" burials in your area?

The best idea I've seen in a long time and it is about time. Taking our bodies nitrogen out of the living pool of the Earth is such a waste. Plant me like all my gardens and watch a green thumb really live on.

Type your comment here.
This is a very good way to reduce anyones carbon footprint.
Also I believe there are two very wasteful expensive days in everyones lives, first is the pomp and circumstance of a wedding, reception and party after words, then when someone dies so much expence is spent on a relatively new tradition of keeping the body around for days after death and spending so much on reviewal and caskets.
Instead of any wood being buried, a heavy unbleached cotton wrap will bio-degrade faster and plots should be smaller not larger.
As in times past many families were buried one after the other years apart in the same cript, we should not build a cript but manage an area the size of one plot for several family members to be placed side by side as close as possible or one above the other.

This is great news for anyone who plans to die and is interested in recycling.

Little by little we discover that the old ways are often the best ways and that 'progress' is often not progress at all, but a rush headlong into destruction of our earth and the environment we hope to leave behind.

Let's hope this idea for green burials grows quickly - my vision is that it will eventually become the norm, rather than the exception.
