New Partnership with Friends of Columbia Gorge Provides Unique Memorialization Opportunities

Five Dignity Memorial funeral, cremation and cemetery providers in the Portland area, all members of the Green Burial Council, now offer green burial and cremation products and services designed to provide customers with a wider range of memorialization options. Earth-friendly products include caskets, urns and clothing, as well as eco-conscious tribute options.

More...Dignity Memorial providers will also support Friends of Columbia Gorge by promoting awareness of the organization and by offering customers the special opportunity to establish an honorarium for family and friends to donate to the organization on behalf of their loved one. Portland Dignity Memorial providers will also match all donations made by their customers up to $5,000.

“Our eco-friendly options and our partnership with Friends of Columbia Gorge reflect our commitment to the environment and to providing our customers with options that reflect their principles,” said J. C. Aubry, Market Director.

Through a partnership with the Arbor Day Foundation, families may have an acre of trees planted and registered in a national forest. Portland locations also offer participation in the Sea Oats community reef, a system of environmentally safe concrete domes that provides new marine habitats.

“Dignity Memorial’s approach to offering eco-friendly funeral practices and products is one of the most thoughtful and thorough to date,” said Joe Sehee, Executive Director, Green Burial Council.  “It’s the kind of environmental leadership we hope to see more of in this field.”

The following Portland area Dignity Memorial providers are Approved Providers of the Green Burial Council and offer eco-friendly products and services:
