Crossways Woodland Burials

In the very heart of Devon with wonderful views of Dartmoor and its tors, you will find our burial ground. Surrounded on two sides by mature trees and wild shrubs, the other two have recently been built as earth banks planted with the local hedgerow flowers, shrubs and trees. These will blend in with the hedgerows that border so many Devon lanes, giving the feeling of peace and tranquillity: a haven for wild birds and insects.
To encourage local flora and fauna the grass will only be mown twice yearly as advised by local wildlife groups but paths will be cut more regularly for ease of access.
The site is located on our small family farm. We have cattle and sheep and aim to farm with the environment. We are part of the Countryside Stewardship Scheme.

Location
The burial ground is situated between Exeter and Okehampton. Take the Cheriton Bishop turning off the A30 and follow the road into Cheriton Bishop village. Take the 2nd road on the right which is marked to Yeoford. Follow the road past the village hall, straight over four crossways crossroad, down the hill. Go over the A30 on the wide bridge and start to climb back up the hill. The burial ground is just before you reach the brow of the hill on the left.
