To the best of my knowledge there is NOTHING illegal about natural burial anywhere in Canada. There may be specific cemeteries where their bylaws will not permit burial without a casket or vault but that is not the same as saying that it is illegal.

I contacted a funeral home here in Calgary about having a green burial. Most of the three people I talked to, didn't know what I was talking about & I was finally put into contact with the person at the top who told me that green burials are illegal in Alberta. Am I just getting the brush off or is that correct?

Type your comment here.
Listened to CBC/sounds like canada today and am delighted that finally something is done about green burials in Canada. B.C. and Ontario were mentioned as possibilities.

How can I find out more?
